According to our client’s customer base, digital payment platforms were more cost-effective and convenient than credit card payments. Our client and its competitors were asked by their mutual customers to standardize credit card payments for a secure, seamless, and consistent experience. Additionally, the collective request of the merchants was to reduce the transaction fees — if our client’s customer base revealed that digital payment platforms out-competed credit card payments on convenience and cost-effectiveness. Both our client and its competitors were being asked by their mutual customers to standardize credit card payments across web and mobile. A simplified payment process would also be feasible if merchants could reduce transaction fees. Developing a new platform and standard for credit card payments would provide a seamless experience across all devices; this would translate to more transactions.
To meet the opportunity, InRhythm assembled a team of 36 engineers including Frontend, Backend, DevOps, and SDETs. There were numerous challenges faced by the team, including standardizing three competing credit card networks on a single process. It was the first step toward developing a unified user interface with a seamless navigation experience regardless of which IoT device the payment was made on.
Our InRhythm pods deliver extensibility and scalability through microservices. For enhanced control over the services, the teams created iterative API frameworks to facilitate future modifications needed to meet their clients’ evolving needs. DevOps and QA efforts were streamlined by centralized, standardized testing.
With Secure Remote Currency (SRC), consumers can checkout digitally without a password. We used HTML, CSS, Javascript, VueJS, Jest (Unit Testing Framework), Cypress.io (integration end-to-end testing), PactJS (FE and BE Contract Testing), SpringBoot, Redis, Microservices, 12 Factor Apps, Oracle, PCF, CI/CD, Jenkins, gUnit, WireMock.
Enhanced security and password-free checkout are included in the new platform. Our client immediately noticed an increase in daily transactions, a reduction in fraud and increased consumer satisfaction after implementing the new platform we developed. Credit card transactions have increased due to hassle-free checkouts and reduced merchant fees.
